I used to have a poor opinion of rebound sex.

Usually honesty's all you need.

In my case the response has always been, "She wanted more than I could give. And I wasn't going to just hold onto her and keep her from that. So I let her go."

You get an attraction boost if you were the one who did the breaking up. An attraction loss if the girl broke up with you. So I'd keep that in mind in how you phrase things, too. Obviously don't be untruthful, but if it is the truth, then be sure to mention it!

I have heard a few cases of men reporting telling girls things like, "She cheated on me, and I had to cut her loose," and having girls get really sexually aggressive and take them back because they wanted to help the guy "get over it" or "get revenge on her" or what have you. So if she cheated and that was the reason for the breakup, that might be worth a shot.
