Approaching on public transport

Today I was travelling in a bus saw I girl I was really attracted to , we exchanged a few glances and then she requested me to tell the time , and stood close to me, however the situation was that she was with another female friend and they were talking to each other. I couldn't get hold of how to start a conversation in such as scenario and escalate effectively to get her number.

Treat her like you would a guy. Strike up a conversation with both the girls, if they are actively reciprocating then exchange names. If you get off at the same stop then ask for a number.
