If they are very aggressive about it the first time, or if they are more playful the first time but don\u2019t take the hint and do it again, I will tell them, \u201cDon\u2019t do that.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe few times I\u2019ve had guys persist more, my go-to is to wrap my arm around the guy\u2019s neck and shoulders tight, like I\u2019m about to put him in a headlock but not quite, then draw him in close to me and pat him firmly on the chest with my other hand and tell him, \u201cHey pal. I\u2019m not a big fan of the touchy-feely stuff. So knock it off.\u201d This way you\u2019re combining physical intimidation (you semi-headlocked this guy and jerked him around, then patted him firmly on the chest with your other hand \u2014 you basically controlled his entire body, front to back) with a calm, clear instruction for what he needs to not do to not get physically humiliated further by you. The result for me has always been guys backing way, way off after that.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAs for flinching, beats me. I am a flincher; I have quick reflexes and am pretty alert. Flinching is a part of that. The good part is I am very quick at dodging blows and things do not really \u201cget by me.\u201d The bad part of it is it is easy to make me flinch. The way I deal with that is not trying not to flinch, but instead giving a death stare at anyone who makes me flinch and letting them know I do not think it\u2019s funny in the least. Usually that seems to do the trick. Sounds like Ben has some good tips on this though; I\u2019ve been in 4 or 5 fights in my life, and have been decked in the face a few times, but not enough that I won\u2019t flinch with something flying toward my face.
