There are sales guys out there who are very dominant and charismatic whose focus is on steering the customer toward what they want them to buy. I learned from such a guy. He was great at sales, he was very good with girls, and he was a likable, dominant, charismatic guy in general. I lean towards most personality items being predominantly genetic. IQ is 80% genes; political persuasion is I think 70% genes; major personality traits are something like 70-80% genes. Personality quirks like ADD, over-cautiousness, disorders like BPD, have large genetic components. All these things drive and shape motivations and preferences too. If you look at large families and know the parents well, you will discover each child is a mix of personality traits from either parent, with many traits emerging independently early on when the child is young in ways identical to how the parent was when young but would be almost impossible to teach. So in my opinion your baseline preferences and standards are most likely coming hard-coded as well.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EOf course you have all that hardware you\u2019re born into the world with, then that hardware gets thrown into the world and needs to make sense of it and apply its internal programmed logic to the nature of the world it finds itself in.
