That piqued my interest a bit more. I put it on my article queue to do a proper article on.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EWhen I wanted to write this article (triggered by a conversation I had with someone where I referenced some similarities between behavior we\u0027re seeing more and more in society and these rat and mouse utopias), I reviewed the stuff online and it all seemed pretty thin. So I looked for the actual papers on it, found three of them, and read those and drew out the lessons from them. I had no idea about the rat \u0027probers\u0027 (pick up artists) until I read the second paper, as I was writing this article. I was pretty surprised myself! Rat incel looks maxxers, rat PUAs, rat status jockeyers. I wasn\u0027t expecting that when I started out writing the article.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EA lot of my stuff will start with me having a good general idea about where I want to take things, but then just to be sure I check the research and sources and it helps refine what I want to say. When I outlined One Date, before the research, for instance, I figured out that I wanted to make a three-part dating success model based on connection, turning a girl on, and compliance. Then I dove into the research, and attitude-similarity kept coming up as perhaps the most significant attraction factor cited again and again, and I realized \u0027connection\u0027 is really just about establishing trust and similarity. Then I kept finding ties to the relationship between similarity and arousal, which you needed to make things sexual, and the ties between both similarity and arousal to compliance. So connection-sexuality-compliance became similarity-arousal-compliance, and I was able to flesh things out in a much stronger way by taking what I already knew and rolling in the findings of all these research studies I read on the subjects. Which, once you start reading them, already knowing the thing in a way, but not having considering this or that angle, you find yourself going, \u0022Of course!\u0022 \u0022Yes, I\u0027ve seen that!\u0022 \u0022I can\u0027t believe I never realized that!\u0022 And it all dovetails very nicely and you distill this simple, interrelated system.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EOne final thing I would add, is that I have a background in rhetoric. So, I tend to want to present correct arguments, that are as unassailable as possible, and one of the ways I try to do that is by stress-testing my theses beforehand, looking for anything that might challenge them, and addressing it or incorporating it into the thesis. Interesting theory if true though... if there is a rise in transsexualism during periods of cultural decline.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EIn the 1990s, as a teenager, I guessed that the United States had about 50 more years as the premiere world and economic power. I didn\u0027t know as much about historical trends, but I\u0027d already read about a lot of ancient civilizations, and I knew the US was exporting its economy, most of its hard tech innovations had died down, and the energy in the populace had shifted from one of ambition and productivity to one of in-fighting, jockeying, and sloth, so the days seemed numbered. I\u0027ve studied a lot more since then but I\u0027d still agree with my teenage prediction. At this point that\u0027d give the US about 25 more years before its economy falls on truly hard times and it suffers a major loss in international status (obviously, it is already bleeding both economically and world status\/power-wise, but it is still hanging on for now).\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAfter the US falls, I think you could see some interesting things. Both South America and the Middle East have been kept deliberately destabilized by the United States, in South America\u0027s case for over 100 years, and it\u0027d be interesting to see those places try to pull themselves together again without Uncle Sam funding revolutions and regime change on behalf of US corporations all the time. The Middle East was doing quite well before the US dropped the gold standard and needed every Middle Eastern country to sell oil only for US dollars, whatever the cost.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EEurope\u0027s enjoyed some benefits, but also been held back quite substantially, by US influence and in some cases like Germany military occupation. It\u0027s hard to say whether Europe has enjoyed more prosperity due to being a satellite of the US or if its prosperity has been held in check. Without the US pressuring it to remain the US\u0027s sidekick, Europe may go in some different directions.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe intermediate future looks to be a Russian-Chinese dominated one. Both countries are on the rise, and both have figured out the US is not their friend, but their enemy, and that they need to work together to guard themselves against its attempts to prevent their rises. Both are still figuring out their diplomacy. Russia is offering military assistance to countries that want to resist the US empire; China is offering economic assistance to countries that want to open up better trade routes. Neither has the fully fleshed out carrot-and-stick diplomacy the US has used to capture most of the world (to various degrees). I expect you\u0027ll see both Chinese and Russian diplomacy mature and expand in scope as the US position declines.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ELonger term, once the US is really out of the picture (by say 2070 or so), you will naturally have a lot of tension if the two great powers of the world, Russia and China, are next-door neighbors. I expect Russia to move closer to Europe, and Europe to move closer to Russia, and Russia to leave more of the Asian sphere to China, and to focus on more of the European\/Middle Eastern sphere. Australia I\u0027d predict will move closer to China. India, it\u0027s hard to say.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe US seems like it\u0027s most likely to break apart into smaller states. The political divisions between the two sides are so severe that neither side much wants to live with the other. And neither side is strong enough to impose its will on the other and force it to remain, nor do I think either is much interested in doing so. I expect by 2040 or sooner you are going to see movements for secession within the US -- it is simply too divided a nation, with too many disparate, unrelated groups with diametrically opposed positions, to continue as a whole.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThere\u0027s an opposite possibility though, where a strongman leader comes to power to unite the various warring factions and impose strict, tyrannical order on the country.
