And now I feel comformtable, I keep telling myself that my pace is good enough. nothing comes\nclose to actual experience in the field you can use to inform a future\nbusiness model\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003C\/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EGetting trained up on marketing - everything from viral\nmarketing to email marketing to press releases to product launches...\nyou name it, the works. You can have the best product in the world, but\nif your marketing sucks, no one will buy it\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003C\/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ELearning some hacking or web development skills - these come in\nhandy in a pinch, and let you get a feel for how good (or not) the\npeople you\u0027re hiring are, rather than you having to guess your way\nthrough it\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003C\/li\u003E\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EIf you have some time, you might want to even just move to San\nFrancisco and start networking like crazy - that\u0027s entrepreneur central\nthese days.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EBasically, the MBA\/JD might be useful if you plan to:\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cul\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EGet a job after school and really learn an industry before you\nstart thinking about launching in it (as many of the successful\nentrepreneurs mentioned in the articles above did), or\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003C\/li\u003E\n\u003Cli\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EJoining an established business that\u0027s out of the startup phase\nand into the growth phase to start applying some of the lessons of your\nschooling to help them do things like build better supply chains and\ninstitute best practices in hiring and managing their teams\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003C\/li\u003E\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E... and \u003Cspan style=\u0022font-style: italic;\u0022\u003Emaybe\u003C\/span\u003E if you\u0027re\nplanning on using the school primarily for networking, say maybe at a\nplace like Stanford, MIT, or Harvard, to find probable cofounders.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThat said, without technical skills, you\u0027ll find it pretty hard to\nhack it in a newly-started startup - every multimillionaire I know who\nmade his money through startups has a technical background, even if he\ndoesn\u0027t get too involved in the day to day coding himself anymore, OR\nhe has a digital products business and has spent a long time studying\nInternet marketing, product creation, and online conversions.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003ESo, make sure if you want it to be YOUR startup (as opposed to\njoining someone else\u0027s later on, and getting a much smaller cut of the\nequity), you know how to throw on your toolbelt and get your hands\ndirty and help things grow, too. For me it seems as if my motivation comes in waves. I really suck at sleeping with women, but when I do cold approaches and try to practice new things that I have read and internalized I always seem to get to the same sticking point all the time which is pretty much getting a lot of phone numbers from women that either leads to them not responding or a few back and forth texts and no meetups. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E     My cycle seems to be that I learn a new concept, get excited to try it, go out and get approach anxiety, then overcome the anxiety for practicing that particular skill, get good reactions from women and what I think is compliance, get phone numbers, and finally all the numbers I get flake. Other guys actually think I do good with women by how my interactions are and to be honest I would to if I didn\u0027t know the truth.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E     Its crazy because I pretty much know all the principals by heart and I utilize them throughout my interactions and I continue to get the same flakey numbers from multiple women. When I try different things and the same thing keeps happening I admit I get a little aversive.  I do need to work on commanding women better and getting them to invest more though. But another major problem is where I live I have to drive about 20 minutes to get to the nearest bar or college town so going for same night intimacy is a problem. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E     I hate coming up with excuses but these are the reasons that I am very good theoretically and lacking severely in application.
