hair length and attractivenessHow important is hair to attraction?

I didn’t pay it much mind the first few years I was out chatting up girls. I got my $12 Supercuts haircut, threw on some threadbare button-down shirts I still had from high school that were two sizes too large for me, a pair of basic jeans, and some chunky white sneakers or square-toed loafers.

And then I’d go out and talk to girls.

I got okay results. I’d get dates sometimes, and sometimes I’d sleep with a girl. Some girls really liked me. Because of this, I assumed these other things did not matter.

Later I realized I was handicapping myself though, and once I started experimenting a lot more with clothes and hair, I got better results.

How much better? It’s hard to say. Fashion and hair improved for me at the same time a bunch of other things did, which makes it tough apportioning out credit.

However, whether the difference it makes to your fundamentals is a 5% improvement or 15% one, this is a fairly straightforward 5% or 15% you can add to your attractiveness portfolio, and it’s one you shouldn’t miss.

Anon-

I was too hasty in jotting that down and didn't make room for exceptions.

Short hair, if you're not super masculine with it, facial hair will help get you there.

It should really be more of a "masculinity meter", where facial hair helps get you there if you need an extra push. If you're already there and add facial hair, it can be too much.

I missed the caveat in the article - my mistake.

Wow, this was just the article I was looking for, i'm a guy with long hair down to my back and have been wearing it long for sometime. I noticed when my fundamentals are tight I generate super strong attraction with alot of women that I run into. It could be that the hairstyle that I have is dreadlocks and that the hairstyle has been popularized by rappers in America, but all I can say that the attraction I get is very strong. If I pair my long hair with stubble, things are good to go, but have also noticed that if my hair is not maintained well, that throws off alot of attraction. It's nice to see a article on this, I was curious as to if facial hair with long hair was to intimidating, I see now that it can help with the look, thanks chase.

I came across this article when looking for a photo image to use as a model for the male hero in my latest novel. He's an '80's - style rock star, so long hair! Anyway, as an "older" woman (low 50's) who has spent her life looking for the perfect man with long hair (and still looking), I found your article interesting, your points valid and your commentary intelligent. I find today, most women younger than myself (20's and 30's) prefer shorter hair. When I was in my 20's (latter half of the 80's), I was big into the rock and rollers... the "big hair" age. Though I have preferred long hair my entire life, it became a fetish for me and remained thus. I think I have dated ONE guy all my life with short hair, in the late '90's (he lived in Scotland... the accent and all). I still know a lot of long-haired men (and I am talking LONG), but they are all taken (even all of my ex's are now hooked up), so it appears to me, from a woman's POV, the long-haired men still get the women, especially the rockers... but that could also be because we are ALL from the '80's rock era and have the same tastes. As a writer of romance fiction, I am finding such a disgusting change in the men on book covers. You mentioned Fabio in your article, and I still see the long-haired man on a horse with a sword image as sexy (without the over-bulging muscles...), however, the book covers are now all men with super short hair (or bald), bearded (I despise beards), over-muscled and tattooed. Got any advice for an older single lady who still "lives" in the 80's (minus the big hair)? LOL

Hey Chase!!

Im definitely not high on the masculinity chart rn, because I have zero body hair, minimal facial hair and have a baby face, and am only 5'8". But, Ive been told Im pretty good looking and look like a Disney kid.  So I get cute younger (looking) girls. But, could really use more man points here.  I do work out and lift as much as I can. I have Nick Jonas type body when im working out a lot, and sorta like Zac Efron pre bay watch, with less abs when Im not lifting as much.  Im living in Hollywood rn, and get basically Biebers fade spike cut when I get mine cut down here. Im leaning towards more of a pompadour fade now because it looks a little more sophisticated and mature than spikes, and Im working and a musician.  I have a round face so i get more volume on top.  Am i on the right track you think?   Most girls tell me they like it medium length because theres more to touch.  But that makes me look pretty boyish imo.  I can grow a light stubble moustache and goatee at best. So when I go out i rock that. Im lacking masculine points, so short hair ?
