perfect manWe often mention on this site that “just be yourself” is bad advice; that if you really want to see yourself truly improve with women (and in general) you should continually upgrade you: your fundamentals, process, and work past any possible sticking points that you may run into.

However, I’ve noticed that a lot of guys try to reach an idealized version of a man: a man who’s smooth, confident, successful, fit… and, well… perfect, in every way.

Not just good, mind you. But perfect.

Today I want to talk about why trying to be the "perfect man" can actually hurt you… and what you can do to maximize your results with women, while steering clear of the danger of striving for a little too much perfection.

And there's something even worse and it's the time when you TRY to be(come) the perfect man.
chances are you start turning as one who's much flawed but this time not out of spontaneity or being whimsical but rather being so deliberately and conscious of how it fails and unaware of the consequences.
great article again
so glad to have you again on website.
Tnx

Hey Chase,

I agree that people enjoy drama in movies, plays etc.

However, there are a lot of girls who already have a lot of drama in their life due to their family problems, work problems etc.

When they are seeking a dating partner are they not seeking a nice guy instead of a guy who would add additional drama to their life?

But a woman's family will always want a perfectly flawless son-in-law no matter what.

One thing you said, I "need" drama. I despise drama. I have had close friends who due to drama, I deleted their number, kicked them to the curb, and never spoke to them again. Washed my hands of them and said good riddance. I do the same with women. Same reason I don't watch shows like "Big Brother", I have no religion due to despising drama so much(something as simple as people raising their hands and closing their eyes during a praise and worship service is way too much drama for me). With that said would I be willing to start a fight with a woman if it meant sleeping with her? Sure, why not. She needs drama even though I don't. I like things boring and predictable, easier to get things done. She tries to surprise me, even if it is something I like in the end it still messes up my daily schedule which is annoying to me. Too much drama I usually turn my back on people and never give them a second chance because they don't deserve my friendship being that they are beneath me, the drama means they are begging me to step on them to get ahead in life, shoving them out of the way and using them. I can also be very vindictive. Perhaps this is one of my big problems with women.

Hey Colt:

Great article. Another point worth making is that whilst a man's grooming should generally be impeccable, it's very possible to overdo that in an unmanly way too.

Ever had the experience of sitting in a movie theater when all the women start gasping and giggling as the hero on-screen, up to his elbows in a steaming basin of soap and water, proceeds to scrub off some manner of filth and then towel his muscular arms dry?

That's why women love all those veterinary and medical shows... nothing sexier than a man who gets his hands dirty doing tough physical work, especially if he's a high-status male, like a doctor or a veterinarian.

Conversely, one of the greatest turn-offs for women is an overly preened, manicured man with a hint of effeminacy about him. Don't make it too perfect.

The worst part is women will still claim they want the perfect man. Even as they get older.
