Well I must say, I've not watched any porn or masturbated at all during the last 12 days and what I've noticed is how much better things are. As a result I've noticed these things:

1. I feel more alert
2. I feel like I have much more energy
3. I feel more drive
4. I feel more dominant
5. I feel more masculine
6. I feel like I have more testosterone
7. MASSIVE sex drive (I can't stop staring at girls on the street, and every time I see a cute/hot girl walk past I just want to fuck her like crazy)
8. I feel more aggressive
9. Get erections regularly now just by thought rather than by pics or porn videos
10. Very erotic sexual fantasies

I mean it's just amazing, can't wait to see how I feel like in a week's time. I just feel like a walking, raging, lion ready to just fuck girls like crazy. My fantasies are getting more and more erotic. And every cute/hot girl I see I just imagine in my mind them being so hungry and thirsty for my dick that I manage to make them cum and squirt all over my cock...20 times. I feel like I'm getting all my sexual energy back. Who else has experienced this?

Hey,

in 2014, before I really started seduction, I read about nofap and decided to give it a try. I had a relatively light porn addiction, but addiction nonetheless. It was just to easy too address my sexual needs by opening a browser... But at the same time then I had no real motivation to meet girls in real.

I quit porn and masturbation altogether, for about 3 months. Initially I had a period of low libido... But then libido came back big time. It felt great. I felt more aggressive and assertive, even at work. Had more energy and drive.

After 3 months of no masturbation I reached a stage where I couldn't take out my eyes from any shapey ass moving around. Not good, looking needy again. So I "broke the fast" and relieved myself.

Yet many of the benefits of nofap remained. My addiction to porn was (and still is) broken. Porn became just boring. About a month after my 90 days nofap challenge I got my first date, and first lay.

It's all positive. Try to hold as long as you can.

Cheers,
Seppuku

I never felt like a lion before I did start masturbating! I do remember seeing distracting semi naked here and there (as you know) and I'd go away and think about bitter that I couldn't get the feeling I knew it would lead to. With masturbating, I could get that feeling, but my time would be wasted. I watch porn about once a forthnight and probably masturbate twice a week (using photos, or just thoughts).

I do fear (a little) becoming desensitised to women, but I am not yet convinced that I'd be more inclined to approach women. I mean, it's not like you get to bang them within 20 minutes of talking to them! Know what I mean?

Also - I don't take this attitude towards food or alcohol for example... i.e I don't give into temptation. For the difference with masturbating is that it doesn't cost money, and it's not bad for your health.

This is really good advice, killerman, thanks for sharing. I'd always wondered if masturbation had any bearing on pick-up efforts, and couldn't find anything regarding this topic in the articles.

After reading this post I stopped almost completely to see if it had a similar effect on me. And it did! I noticed right away I felt like I had more energy throughout the day, as well as a higher sex drive and more motivation to talk to new women. The 1st day after quitting I went out and did 5 cold approaches that day, my new record, haha. (I'm still new).

It must be something subconscious, but it definitely helps me.

This thread interests me. I'm in a unique position in which I watch quite a bit of porn, but I'm also still going out and meeting women. I feel like I might just have a really massive sex drive or something...cause I can literally fap 2-3 times a day, then still have the motivation to go out and meet women that night. Also, despite the massive amounts of porn I consume, I've never gotten into the territory of watching really outlandish stuff (dwarf porn, animal porn, old people porn, ..w.e else there is that's not normal).

The thing is, I don't see it having any real effect on my life. I still more or less take care of the things I need to do, I don't avoid my problems or otherwise ignore responsibility in favor of consuming porn etc. At the same time though...maybe it is affecting my life, and I just can't tell. Cause the longest I've ever gone without fapping has been like a week or so. Also, I feel like even if it's not affecting my life, I have a light addiction. Mainly because I've tried to stop on multiple occasions, and I've failed.

Given these circumstances, do you guys think it would be beneficial for me to quit or cut down on porn?

Edit: The few times I did try to stop,it was not pleasant. I had to fight myself all day just to prevent myself from touching my own dick. This actually caused a huge drain on my willpower, and I actually ignored some of the things I needed to do cause I had to concentrate all my efforts on not masterbaiting. lol

Wouldn't it be nice to know your addiction doesn't have power over you, and to just stop because, "fuck you porn... you don't own me."

and like you said you don't know what your capable of because you probably don't know the last time you went a 2 weeks? 2 months? without it.

GC, fapless Bboy could have a killer fucking edge that chicks dig and want to fuck his brains out.

But probably not, so you should just keep fapping away, since you don't "notice" anything missing anyway.

I was considering not writing a response because I know this sounds like bullshit rationalizations and even a hint of victim mentality. But these are real concerns for me...so fuckit, here are my thoughts:

I just don't have much of an understanding of how exactly not fapping is supposed to help me. Like...obviously I'll be hornier, but how is that useful? I could see how it might be helpful if I was sitting on my ass and not doing anything. Being horny all the time and knowing that sex is my only way to get a release would definitely be motivating. But short of cold approaching on campus (which I have made the conscious decision not to do), I do pretty much all I can to meet women (I go out to parties 2+ days a week, usually have 1-2 dates a week via Tinder, and I try my best to chat with girls in my classes and social circle).

So here's what I'm trying to figure out:
How specifically does not watching porn benefit me? This is a controversial topic because there are some sources which say that watching porn is almost the equivalent of doing crack, so I should throw out the habit ASAP. And there are others which say that I should watch as much porn as I want, cause it's actually completely healthy, regardless of quantity. Moreover, even if we agree that there are cases in which it's unhealthy, I also have to ask: am I one of those cases? How do I know this? Tbh, based on what I've read, I'm more inclined to believe that not watching porn will indeed help me in many ways. But I'm still not 100% sure.

The obvious response to all this is what you already said. To stop theorycrafting and just try it on for size. I should stop watching porn for a couple weeks, and see if it makes me feel any different. Unfortunately, as I mentioned before, not watching porn takes a tremendous amount of willpower on my end. So if I don't 100% believe that what I'm doing will help me, I know I'll fail (because I've tried in the past, and that's exactly what happened). So it seems we have a a catch-22. I need proof that this will help me in order to find the motivation to do it. But without the motivation to do it, there is no way I can find said proof.

I'm not really sure what to say because you basically said," It's to hard for me to quit porn because I'm addicted. I've tried and failed and I will fail again,Porn>Bboy 10 times out of 10, and unless you prove with 100% certainty it will benefit me, I won't even bother trying."

Your right no one can ever prove it will make you better, so I'm not even going to bother, but

I challenge you to stop for 1 month. I hope you accept considering your picture.

If you do, and are not happy, I will send you something equal up to $100 in value of your choosing. You have my word as a man, and everyone here can hold me accountable.

Challenge aside:

Just because you are approaching girls and talking to girls and taking girls on dates doesn't mean your properly releasing your sexual energy. I know you are a pretty analytical guy that is currently in college(probably getting good grades) who spends a lot of time studying game and approaching women but, how much time do you spend doing strenuous activities that will allow you to release this immense build up of energy?

Going to the gym 3-5 times a week and curling some irons and hitting the bench do not count unless your going HAM like RAGE does and lifting over 9000 pounds.

Class, study, GC, read, write, curl weights, approach girls on campus, go to parties, tinder are not things that are going to release that energy(correct me if I'm wrong)

Find something that will and it will make watching prerecorded videos of naked people on the internet while touching yourself over and over again easier to avoid.

Yeah, this is exactly why I was hesitant to write my last post. Cause it leads us to a complete dead end haha.

This interests me. So what would you consider to be something which is a "proper release of sexual energy" (other than sex itself ofc)?

Yeah, I'm down to try this! You actually got me so excited I just put a porn block on my computer. I haven't fapped today. Today is 2/11. So this challenge will extend through 3/11. Since it's your challenge, you can keep me accountable however you'd like. So let me know if you have any good ideas. Otherwise, I'll just PM you if I fail? Also, is this Nofap or just noporn?

Bboy,

Saw your report. Glad you were able to manage a lay so fast ;)

All personal theory here, but just imagine a HP bar from a fighting game, which is your energy. Somewhere along that bar, which would be different for each person, is a line that you cross where you have too much energy and you get a "feeling" that makes you want to release it. That is the feeling that you have associate with releasing by masturbating to porn. That excess energy can be used toward other things, and when it does get used in one way or another you will lose that "feeling" or "desire" to wack one off.

What qualifies I think depends on the person and the lifestyle they live, but for me 45+ minutes of cardio plus a 8 hour day of working on my feet does the job. For you it might take less and for someone else it might take more. My personal gauge is how much I sweat.

Most people here don't seem to like cardio so you would have to calibrate it to something you like more, but It's important for it to be physical. The lifestyles we live are to sedentary.

Reporting here works so everyone can witness our experiment. If you want to no porn fap by all means go for it. In my experience since it's not as stimulating you won't have the desire let one loose nearly as much as when you are addicted to porn.

Sorry for the delay on this :)

Ok, awesome! Yeah, I'll keep you guys posted. If I fail the challenge, I'll publicaly announce it on here. If I make it to 3/11 without fapping to pronz, I'll post the results here.

And yeah, the thing about energy seems to resonate with me. Case in point, yesterday I was feeling super horny. On YourBrainOnPorn.com, I read that intense exercise is a good way to get over such cravings. So I went out and did an extra long cardio session (45 mins of interval training and an additional 30 mins of legs). After that, I felt a lot better. I guess I'll just keep doing this haha.

Ok, its been exactly 1 month since we started this challenge. Here are the results:

1. Less anxiety/worrying about dating and pickup.
2. Less stress
3. Better interactions. Particularly in group settings.
4. Less approach anxiety.
5. MUCH better interactions with the women I meet
6. No more anxiety & self-esteem issues. The only exception was this one girl who I really liked, but lost. I was anxious because it was my first second date ever. And also, she invited me to her place but didn't tell me it was going to be a group hangout with her roommates. So I felt like that was her way of blowing me off. I was wrong about this. But because of my distorted frame, I felt anxious throughout the whole date, and she began to associate my behavior with her abusive ex-BF. So she dropped me. lol
7. I still fap multiple times every day. I just do it without porn.
8. Quitting porn was easy. It's not fapping that's hard for me.
9. Having said that, I did do the first 5 days or so with nofap. The only notable difference is that I was unbelievably horny.

I'm not 100% sure that these improvements are just because of noporn. I had several other things going for me:
1. It's getting lighter out. I believe I have a seasonal depressive disorder because I literally get anxious every Winter. So the fact that its close to spring now and there's more daylight is really helping.
2. I've been getting consoling for said anxiety. And a lot of the stuff the guy tells me has really been helping to improve my mood and my behavior.
3. I'm finally back in the gym after a 6 month hiatus. My arm seems to be feeling a lot better. So I'm finally able to lift now.

In conclusion: I think that this was a great experiment. I'm not sure that its the noporn that's causing all these improvements to my life. But it very well could be. So I've decided I'm going to continue on the noporn diet. Thanks for the challenge Lotus! I don't think I would have done it without you :)

As a guy who used to masturbate everyday, I decided to start reducing my fap frequency over time. First step was to do it every other day, while maintaining this frequency and at first it was hard (pun intended), and some days I couldn't resist and had to give in to temptation. But after a while (which coincides with when I started to notice gains after a month and a half at the gym) it got a bit easier (sometimes going for 3 days straight without feeling the urge) and the combination of working out and reduced fapping made me feel "like a fuckin LION" indeed! So for the last 2 weeks I've been feeling more confident, more sexual... just like what was stated in the OP. And the cool thing about that is that when I look at a girl I find cute, I get the impression that she can feel what's going on in my head and I can see it in the look on her face. I'm also getting checked out more, but could be the better posture and other things.

So far I'm loving it! Walking around with this sexual energy feel amazing!
